Ten Canadian Artists | Ten Styles of Painting

"It appears we just got Banksy-ed."

Marina Malvada has shared her comments on the recent Bansky prank (see below) as well as an announcement of her upcoming exhibit.

The Bansky prank is sure to be part of many interesting conversations about art and the world that loves or hates it. Are there any who would read about this event and not be shocked? excited? dismayed? I think it would be difficult not to have some level of emotion about what occurred. Never a dull moment when it comes to Banksy. http://banksy.co.uk/

Marina’s comments:

Warning: The following material is antithetical to the notion of artist as entrepreneur. - Marina Malvada

I have so much respect for the artist/entrepreneur model, but my formal education and art practice leans slightly toward the non-commodification of art.

Of course, I do like to sell paintings, but I'm currently more focused on public exhibitions. My upcoming show at Fairview Manor from October 17th to December 4th is the most recent example.

There will be an opening reception on November 22nd from 7 to 9 pm at The Fairview Manor, 75 Spring St., Almonte.
