The Artists of The Ten Collective Never Saw It Coming.
The artists of The Ten Collective never saw it coming. Waves and waves of art lovers entered the exhibit at the Textile Museum over two days. The first 2-3 hours were overwhelming. Not only did everyone want to get to see and buy paintings by their favourite artists, they remained to become enveloped by the buzz and soak up the aura of being in the middle of all that amazing artwork.
In addition to our Ottawa Valley, people came from Ottawa, Toronto and Montreal. Some came because they were visiting the area, and many came because they'd heard about it through social media or word of mouth from a distant connection. The Humm newspaper was a big part of building awareness of our show. They profiled one of the artists in the March issue and, along with ads placed by the group, they included articles of their own to show further support.
The guest book had page after page of beautiful, supportive, excited comments about the show. So many asked when the next one was happening!
This week the artists are packaging and delivering or shipping their paintings to happy buyers. It means so very much to each of us that a special person connected with one of our pieces so much so that they wanted to experience it in their home or office. We truly are grateful for that connection.
In the next few weeks there will be some new galleries on this website that will show many of the artists work that was in the show, as well as candid photos of the event itself.
To those who made it out to the show – to those who signed the guest book – to those who couldn't make it but sent their words of encouragement and support. – to our wonderful town of Mississippi Mills and the Textile Museum – to our dear partners, friends and family – to all who shared the word about the event, including Rogers TV, CBC In Town & Out, The Humm, and many many other media outlets... The Ten Collective thanks you from the bottom of our artistic hearts.
