The Perfect Studio? | Nancy Young | Artist | The Ten Collective
There aren't many artists that sit together to paint unless it's in class or in a group that has a very clear understanding of silence. We are in a solitary world and happy for it while we create. We also use spaces that can accommodate just our bare art necessities and rarely will you see a pristine studio. It's just part of the creative process - dropped rags, broken pencils, hardened brushes, forgotten sketches - all reside beside the tools that are still usable. And then there is the rare day that everything needs to be cleared out and cleaned up. An attempt at a perfect studio doesn't last long and we're back to the loving disarray that surrounds us.
Nancy Young's studio looks like she's got a handle on how to keep organized with her tools. I now aspire to be just like this. I wonder how long that will last!
